The standpipe has a facade in three pointed arches, approximately 3.25m high and 2.80m wide. The depth is about 60 cm, and the front includes a water basin topped with a metal spout installed in place of the old stone tap.

The shrine is attributed to Sheikh Ghanem Al-Ansari, who died in 1232 AD. He is one of the commanders who participated with the leader Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi who participated in the Battle of Hattin in 1187 CE. The novels mention that he resided in this place, then departed to Damascus, where he lived and died.

Description of the site: Emperor Zeno built the Church of the Virgin Mary on the top of Mount Gerizim in 484 AD, rising about 886 meters above sea level. And due to the sanctity of the site for the Samaritans, they attacked the church and were able to burn and destroy it, and at a later time, it was rebuilt in 536 AD.
