9th station Via Dolorosa

The Via Dolorosa or the “Way of Sorrows” is the traditional route Jesus walks on his way to his crucifixion. The Via Dolorosa has 14 traditional stations honoring the events that took place as Christ made his Golgotha to be crucified.  Every Friday afternoon hundreds of Christian pilgrims join a procession and make their way along the 14 stations of the cross ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.  Ninth Station- Jesus Falls for the Third Time: Go back to Souk Kahn As-Zeit Street and follow the stairs up to the entrance to the Coptic Chapel. A column on the left marks the Ninth Station of the Cross, where Jesus fell for the third time.
