Tel Al-Ras - Shuweika

An accumulation of archaeological layers formed an artificial mound dating back to the second Middle Bronze Age. The pile is located in the village of Shweikeh (Shweikeh suburb). The site was mentioned in ancient Egyptian texts. The site contains archaeological evidence, including the city wall on the southern side, where part of the site appears on the outskirts and is preserved next to an industrial facility at the site entrance. Although no excavations have been carried out at the site so far, the surface surveys of the area showed the existence of a stratified sequence at the site through the presence of pottery and cultural remains from the Middle Bronze period, passing through the Iron Age, the Hellenistic, the Roman, Byzantine, early and late Islamic period.
