Description of the site: According to the inscription above the western facade of the building, the shrine and the corner are attributed to Sheikh Musallam Al-Samadi. One of the great descendants of the Sheikh, who left the village of Samad in southern Syria, and joined Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi's army. The inscription on the tomb states that the Sheikh died in Jumada I in 1226 AD.The corner consists of three sections; the southern section, which is the chamber, can be accessed through a door in the western frontispiece, which constitutes the main entrance to the corner; It is a low-rise entrance that descends about 30 cm from the street level to the right and the left. From the outside, there are small decorative benches (seats). The chamber is a rectangular hall with dimensions of 7 x 6. Intersecting arches surmount it. Its southern facade includes a niche, and on its sides are two stone columns. It is crowned with stones decorated with motifs representing the Mamluk muqarnas pattern. On the side of the niche, there is a small door leading to the Khan's yard. The chamber was a small mosque; then it was transformed into a Kuttab (school), and a place for prayers and teaching Qur'an affiliated with the Sufis. From its northern side, the chamber faces a hall containing three tombs believed to belong to the Sheikh's sons. In the western facade of the chamber, there is a narrow hallway leading to a room containing the tomb of the Sheikh, much larger than the tombs of his three sons.In 2008, the Municipality of Nablus and the Ministry of Awqaf performed restoration and rehabilitation works on the corner. Today, the corner has become the headquarters of the Qadiriyya Naqshbandi Sufi order; they participate in reviving religious occasions such as the Prophet's birthday, the Hijri Year (Islamic Year), and other events where they tour the old town of Nablus in marches holding flags, drums, and wands.
Al corner and the shrine are located in the northeastern part of Al-Habala neighborhood, which is the largest neighborhood in the historic city of Nablus. On the eastern side, the shrine is bordered by the ruins of an ancient building believed to be ...
