Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center is a special place for pilgrims of all faiths seeking to experience the spirituality of the Holy Land. The center offers hospitality to visitors from around the world who come to experience the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Jerusalem. Located in the heart of the city, the center is just a few steps away from the Old City’s New Gate, and a few minutes from the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Jaffa Gate, and other nearby sites. Founded in 1882 due to the influx of pilgrims coming to the Holy Land under the direction of the French Assumptionists. The religious order purchased a 4000 square meter property right next to the French Hospital of St. Louis des Français and the cornerstone of the building was officially laid on June 10th, 1885. Over the years, the building has served as a place of hospitality and spiritual enrichment for those who come to visit the Holy Land. Today, the complex includes a range of accommodation including junior and family suites, double and single rooms. Adjacent to the main building, there is a hostel with a variety of dormitory style accommodation options. The culinary scene at the hotel is equally rich. The Wine and Cheese Roof Top restaurant offers guest a dining experience overlooking the Old and New city of Jerusalem. The rich menu includes over 40 different import gourmet cheeses and an extensive list of vintage wines. The Alegro Bistro and Cafe offers traditional Middle Eastern recipes such as hummus with lamb meat, Mediterranean dishes like spaghetti Bolognese, and American favorites like the classic beef hamburger. Finally, the main dining room offers a self-service buffet proving a wide selection of appetizing salads, main dishes, and pastries for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The our Lady of Peace chapel is also located inside the main building where guest can join service or visit the Chapel anytime. Finally, the location also offers other facilities including the John Paul II Auditorium with a seating capacity of 500 people, a variety of meeting rooms, and banqueting services.
